Hollis Chatelain is a resident of North Carolina, though she lived many years abroad in Africa. She is an accomplished artist, photographer and teacher. Her textile portraits of the peoples of Africa are recognized throughout the world. Through this exhibit, Hollis is bringing her message to the world – not by shouting, but with gentle strokes of dye-paint on fabric and thousands of yards of colored threads. The exquisite details of her colorful threadwork draw every viewer into her world.
